Ron Newman is a native Texan being raised in Temple and then living in Ft.Worth as a student attending T.C.U. He began a 30 year football coaching career in Amarillo after graduating and this endeavor carried him to other cities such as Odessa, Waco and Corpus Christi. Ron retired from public school employment and joined the Y.C.A. staff in 1998.

Ron has been married to Vickie Newman for 35 years. She is an officer in the American Banking system here in the city. His son, Wes, is a medical supply salesman and his daughter, Lisha, is a dental hygienist. Vickie and Ron have 3 little grandchildren and they are the center of their lives. His hobbies include camping, guns and watching his grandbabies play. His favorite scripture is Romans 10:9 and he is a strong believer that Jesus Christ is alive and well. That is his opinion and it ought to be yours.
