Karen Chang has been a member of the Yorktown Christian Academy teaching staff since 2005. She has been in the teaching profession for twenty years. She and her husband have lived in Corpus Christi for thirteen years and have been blessed to have two children. 

Karen began her teaching career in 1987 by implementing the Spanish program in a private high school in Virginia.  She taught Spanish there to students in grades 8-12 until she was married in 1991.  She then taught elementary Spanish in Houston for several years.  Karen and her husband then had the opportunity to live in Venezuela for one year where she taught English to adults.  While in Venezuela, Karen seized the opportunity to immerse herself in speaking Spanish and soaking up the culture of Venezuela and its people. 

While at Yorktown Christian Academy Karen has taught preschool, first grade and middle school Spanish.  Karen embraces each teaching opportunity with excitement and a true love for her students.
